Batareynaya Bay
"Batareyka" sits on the open south shore past Lebyazhye, about 80 km from the city. It's a wide, empty beach that gets proper waves when the westerlies blow.

The bay faces north-west onto the open gulf. W and NW are the classic directions, side-onshore with a long fetch, and N and NE also work. South and south-east winds come off the land and are offshore. On autumn westerlies it often blows 20–28 kn here.

The gulf is deeper here than at the city spots, and strong westerlies build real waves. It's one of the few wave options near St Petersburg. On lighter days the water is choppy. The bottom is sand with plenty of boulders, which you can see in the photo.
