El Gouna
A resort town built around lagoons, with several kite centres and a northerly that blows most of the year. The water is shallow and flat in the lagoons, so it is one of the easiest places to learn.

Wind
The wind comes from the north (and north-west) most of the year, sideways onto the lagoons. The windiest period runs roughly from spring to autumn. In summer you get fewer days above 30 kn, and in winter there are fewer windy days, but they are stronger.
Water & level
Shallow and flat in the lagoons, with a small chop on the open edge. Mangroovy Beach has a reef about 200 m out and is more comfortable at high tide. Riah, further along, has a long stretch of shallow water without a reef. Water stays warm, around 22–28°C.
Launch & rules
You launch through the kite centres: Mangroovy Beach, KBC, KitePower and Riah are the best-known ones. Schools expect you to sign up with them to use the area. Tawila Island is a separate, offshore-wind spot reached by boat.
Watch out
Low tide narrows the training bay at some spots, and the Mövenpick zone gets cramped at high tide. Stay out of marked teaching areas, watch for reef edges beyond the lagoon and for strong, gusty days in winter.
